Obama Campaign Advisor 2012
I know that 2012 is a long way away, but I think that I would like to apply for this job. I have already thought of the perfect slogan for Obama's re-election campaign.
Death, Servitude, and the Pursuit of Failure
It may scare some people, but so what? Everyone says they want more honesty from their politicians. Well, there is the truth from Obama. In his world everyone is so over all of that "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" thing. Besides, why would you want liberty so that you could just try for happiness. That involves risk. No guarantees. The all-knowing government can take care of everything for you.
His record from his first term is already well on the way to building the platform for this slogan. His Republican opponent would not be able to use the old "He's just not telling the truth about his record" attack.
What do you think? Do you want to throw your hat in for this job? Do you have a good campaign slogan for Obama in 2012?

80's Tunes That Are Relevant Today
80's music is some of the best. I heard these two on the radio today, and I thought they were very appropriate for the current times.
This one is related to a specific political leader in America today. Is anyone out there having buyer's remorse?
The next one is a rallying cry for those fighting the Democrat's sprint to socialized medicine.

Please Don't Forget....
I know we (conservatives) are all busily involved in trying to derail the legislation that will Socialize our health care system, but please take the time to donate to your favorite charity(or charities).
We have always been told how liberals are 'compassionate'. I beg to differ. In his book 'Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism', Arthur Brooks details how he found through studies that conservative households give approximately 30% more to charity than liberal households. This in spite of the fact that liberal families earn slightly more on average. He says "Those who support the idea that government should redistribute income are among the least likely to dig in their own wallets to help others".
Conservatives know that government programs are not the answer and are willing to give generously to private programs that can and do help those in need. Please find a cause (or five) that you believe in, and give, give, give.
My family donates to these three worthy groups. We know the money we give is used to help those that need it, and they all have great meaning for us:
1. Wounded Warrior Project- Their mission is "To honor and empower wounded warriors." they provide all kinds of services and direct programs to meet the needs of severely wounded service members. Their most recognizable program is the WWP Backpacks. They are provided to the severely wounded service members as they arrive at military trauma centers. The packs contain items like clothing, calling cards, toiletries, CD player, playing cards- things to make their stay a little more comfortable.
2. Freedom Alliance- The Alliance has three areas of concentration. The Freedom Alliance Scholarship program provides college scholarships to the children of those brave Americans who sacrificed their life, or those that have been permanently disabled, while defending our country. The Support Our Troops program honors service members on the front lines and in hospitals. They hold Troop Appreciation Dinners & events throughout the year. They also provide support to grieving families. The Leadership Academy is a summer camp for high school students age 14-18. It uses some of the fundamental doctrines of military training to instill leadership potential and develop character.
3. Autism Speaks- This organization dedicated to raising funds to research the causes, prevention, treatments, and finding a cure for Autism. They also want to raise public awareness of Autism, and bring hope to those who deal with the hardships of this disorder.
These are only three of the many thousands of deserving charities. I urge everyone to take the time to research and find those that you find worthy, and give them a helping hand.

What big government? Feds to regulate garage sales
If you missed this, it is an article from American Thinker.
What big government? Feds to regulate garage sales
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where and when will this all end? Garage sale cops? Are they REALLY serious? I cannot believe that there is enough money in our recession addled coffers to pay someone to check out Loretta's bi-annual yard sale in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Congress keeps piling up one debt on top of the other, but here we are....
Watch out, I see several recalled toys here.
Don't get caught selling Dora, Backpack, and Perrito at your sale
Sounds like Big Brother will be watching!!

Keep Your Head in the Game
Right now Health Care Reform is the talk of the nation, and everyone has an opinion. Sunday brought the news that Obama and his Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, believe the "public option" is not that important. They would settle for Co-ops.
I am afraid that there are those people out there that will believe the American people have won this battle, and will let down their guard. The co-ops are not a better deal. It seems to me that this is just re-labeling basically the same program and then shoving it on through. They may scrap one small part of the original program, or tinker with this or that idea in it, but my guess is it will still be the same idea. More government involvement in your health care. Come on, people, a load of manure by any other name is still a pile of crap!!!
In the last day or so Obama and his lackeys have backtracked (once again), and said the public option "is still viable". This is because their base (the Looney Left), is not happy, and wants the public option.
Stay focused. Speak out. If we are not heard now, it may be too late.

Operation Coffee Cup 2009
Let me preface all of this this by saying that I was never a big fan of President Reagan when he was in office (I was only eight when he was sworn into office in 1980). I know that he was human and imperfect (we all are). That said, after reading this post you might also believe (like myself), that this man was a great oracle.
In the late 50's and early 60's, the American Medical Association conducted a campaign in opposition to Congressional Democrats plan to extend Social Security to include socialized medicine for the elderly (later known as Medicare). It became known as Operation Coffee Cup because part of the plan involved doctor's wives organizing coffee meetings in order to convince their acquaintances to write Congress opposing the program. In 1961, Reagan recorded the LP "Ronald Reagan Speaks Out Against Socialized Medicine" for the AMA. The organizers of the coffee meetings would use this record as part of their presentation.
I have included the video of this speech. I know it is long, but it is entirely relevant, and worth the listen.
There are many parts of this speech that are noteworthy, but the one that stands out for me is not even from Ronald Reagan. It is this:
"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." - Norman Thomas (1884-1968) six-time U.S. Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America.
Scared yet? You should be. But you can still have your say. Can't make it to a Town Hall meeting? Is your Representative or Senator too scared to even hold one? Then write to them. Don't e-mail them. I know it's very un-green, and sooo not planet friendly, but pull out some paper and let them know what you think. E-mail is easy to overlook (they just won't turn on their computer until after the vote), but a mountain of letters from their constituents? Kinda hard to overlook that. Time is short, so pull out your pen, and get ready for Carpal Tunnel to set in (just make sure you see your doctor soon to treat it).
I am including a link to a site that will give you the addresses for those that represent you. When you get there, click on your state. You will need to click on the names of your Senators and Representatives to get to the page that shows their snail mail address.

Thanks for reading.... now turn off the computer and get to writing.

Fed Up Beyond Fed Up!!!!
I have had way beyond enough of all of these Democratic senators and congressmen (and women). The final straw for me came tonight when I saw the video of Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D) answering her cell phone while a citizen was asking her a question. Tracy Miller is an unemployed, uninsured cancer survivor. She had concerns about this "reform", and wanted answers from the representative. While this woman was asking her question- IN THE MIDDLE OF HER QUESTION!!!- Jackson Lee answers her cell phone and has several exchanges with whoever is on the phone.
You HAVE to be kidding me!!! To put it mildly that is rude. These people in Congress work for US. Have at least a little respect for the constituents. We do sign your paychecks. And need I remind you that your pay keeps increasing while a lot of Americans are still losing their jobs?
I am so very tired of no one listening to concerned Americans, more specifically, Democrats not listening to concerned Americans. If that had been any Republican politician, why, I could just hear the histrionics pouring from the mainstream media, and the (ah-hem) news journalists at CNN , MSNBC, and the likes. "Republicans don't care what the average citizen has to say", or "Republicans are heartless, uncaring , and watch out, because they want to have phone records that may or may not be yours under the guise of finding terrorists in the country". Hmmm... at least Republicans didn't set up a site so that Americans could snitch on other Americans that disagree with the administration!!
I am tired of it, I am fed up, but I refuse to be silent anymore!!!
